In the first phase of SciFUN implementation, project partners have performed a desk and field research to identify the state of the art on Science Education in 7 partner countries: Romania, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland and Poland. Based on these results and findings SciFUN partners are in the process of developing the online toolkit and online training materials that will be hosted on the online platform of the SciFUN project.

In the first phase of SciFUN implementation, project partners have performed a desk and field research to identify the state of the art on Science Education in 7 partner countries: Romania, Cyprus, Greece, Ireland and Poland. The desk-based research was achieved through Literature and Curricula Reviews in science education – more specifically in areas as Science & Technology Education; Environmental Education; Multicultural and Civic Education; Informal Learning - while for the field research, the project consortium has designed and applied questionnaires & interviews to teachers and stakeholders and has performed Focus Groups with teachers and school staffs.

Another second focus group discussion has been conducted in Cyprus on the 16th September 2016 for the purposes of the SciFUN project. The SciFUN project aims to is to address the challenge of engagement in science through an innovative approach to science teaching and learning and make learning science fun and relevant to students’ contexts.
